Beginning in a small seven hundred square foot building in Bethlehem, Connecticut, High-Lites grew rapidly; a result of the expertise and reputation of the partners in the emergency light field, and an employee recruitment process that emphasized professionalism and a customer-oriented, "Can Do" spirit. Within two years, the company boasted a ten-thousand square foot address in Waterbury, Connecticut and a reputation for quality and innovation with emergency light products. In July of 1989, Jac Jacobsen Industries purchased High-Lites from its shareholders and made it part of the JJI Lighting Group family, a group of fifteen distinct companies specializing in a wide variety of emergency lighting products for a range of personal and professional environments. Under the guidance of JJI, High-Lites has continued its growth and in 1993, added four thousand square feet of both office and manufacturing space. Today, High-Lites is a $5 million company, employing twenty-two full-time employees, including both office and manufacturing personnel. The company also has a sales force of fifty-four agents, and JJI RVPs (Regional Vice Presidents) that have enabled us to become a widely recognized name in the emergency lighting field. |
